§ 4.01. Municipal Elections.

  • The regular municipal elections shall be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in March unless changed by ordinance.

    In order to implement the two year terms, the two Commissioners and the Mayor elected in the May 1997 General Election shall have terms ending with the March 1999 General Election. This is a term of one (1) year and ten (10) months.

    The three Commissioners elected in the October 1997 election shall have terms ending with the March 1999 General Election. This is a term of one (1) year and five (5) months. (F.S. § 100.3605(2) applies.)

    F.S. §§ 97.041 and 166.041, as amended or replaced from time to time, shall govern elector eligibility for municipal elections.
